Preserving your sexiness for your Future Husband

Do you think you should preserve your sexiness for your future husband?  Is it ok to dress sexy even before you meet him? Especially us Christian ladies,  we get pressured not to dress too sexy and keep something for him. Even with makeup, we are told not to wear bold colors or not to wear certain lip color so that it don’t entice the men. We all have our opinion on this and some say it’s ok to dress sexy while others say keep yourself covered. After all in the Bible if you read 1 Timothy 2:9 ” likewise also  that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garment”. So how sexy is too sexy when you are a Christian woman?

I know for me I feel like we can be sexy without getting almost naked. I always try to find a balance between sexy but classy and not overexposing. I don’t think because you are a Christian you should be covered up or wear no makeup. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I do from time to time. But I will admit that I love clothes that are sexy but not showing too much. I think that we at the end of the day dress in a way that is pleasing to God but I don’t believe that we should be covered up completely and not wear makeup and have our hair pulled back in a ponytail. I see Christian woman like the Gospel ladies of Mary Mary dress respectfully but have a bit of sexy to them. I even see ladies like R & B artist Monica and Brandy dress with class but have a bit of sexy to their style.

As far as dressing sexy, let that be for your husband. When you want to be sexy and wear little clothes, preserve that for the bedroom. He will enjoy that private time with you and appreciate what little you have on. But for the public, dress classy. I think there is a way to balance both without looking like a complete prostitute. We should be able to dress how we want but we should be careful to represent the Lord in a way that is respectful and pleasing.

God understand that these times are different and clothes and style are different then how it was during that time. I think the point is to always be classy and represent the Lord and have others look at you with respect. God did say in Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what is God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.” This goes for every area of our lives, whether it’s how we act, think and even dress. We are a walking advertisement for the Lord. Though no one should look at us as if we are perfect and not capable of making mistakes, we are here to show others how to love God and each other. This start with loving ourselves first and knowing our worth!
